In 2022, I started The Flora Collection with a simple idea: to create art that anyone could enjoy, and to make it feel accessible to all. Every piece is created by me, Shannon Quarmby, and I hope my love for painting shines through in each work.
As I grow and evolve, that mission hasn’t changed. I want to celebrate the beauty of art and share it in ways that resonate with people from all walks of life. Whether through exhibitions, workshops, or online galleries, I aim to make art feel like a part of everyday life — not just a luxury.
The Flora Collection has always been about connection: connecting people with art, connecting communities, and sparking imagination. I believe art has the power to bring people together, inspire conversations, and create moments of joy.

​A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST

I’ve often heard people say: “I want to be wealthy. I want to be successful. I want to be established.”
But rarely do I hear anyone say: “I want to be relaxed.”In our fast-paced world, moments of calm and peace often take a backseat. Through my art, I aim to gently challenge that hectic rhythm by creating pieces that invite stillness, reflection, and nostalgia — and, more recently, a sense of wonder and imagination. I love exploring fantasy worlds and storytelling through painting, where every painting can transport you somewhere magical, familiar, or just a little dreamlike. I believe that embracing our complex human emotions is what makes us truly human, and my hope is that my work helps you bridge those feelings with the memories and imaginings that shape you.
Based in South Africa, The Flora Collection is just beginning to put down its roots. My vision is to grow it into a space where art lovers — whether creators or connoisseurs — can come together and celebrate the beauty of artistic expression and imagination.
My work currently explores two main disciplines: watercolour and oil, which is why I’ve created two signature collections:
The Aquarelle Collection focuses on realistic watercolour paintings, capturing the subtle beauty of the natural world and creating a sense of calm and relaxation.
The Atelier Collection focuses on oil paintings that explore fantasy, realism, and storytelling. These pieces are designed for the art collector and aim to evoke nostalgia, wonder, and tranquility — allowing imagination to wander freely.
Ultimately, every piece I create is meant for you to enjoy. My greatest hope is that when you encounter my art, you allow yourself to feel — whether it’s calm, joy, nostalgia, or the thrill of stepping into a new, imagined world.
